Spring officially arrived last Friday, the Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said yesterday.

The season is said to have started on the first of a run of at least five days on which the mean daily temperature surpasses 10 degrees Celsius.

A few seasonal showers are expected during the remainder of this week, but the weekend will be dry and clear, forecasters said.
