It is a stage play adapted from a series of Japanese picture books by Tatsuya Miyanishi. The story is set in the late Cretaceous Period, when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. An herbivorous dinosaur stumbles upon an egg and decides that the baby in the egg needs to be taken care of, so he adopts it as his own. The sets and the character design have been approved by Miyanishi to ensure the consistency of the style with the original book. Moreover, Joe Hisaishi has been invited to compose certain sections of the score including the theme music.
This play, produced by the Beijing Children's Art Theater, represents an adaptation of an internationally popular book for children, the first of its kind to be taken to stage in China.
