According to a recent weather forecast, Beijing will have smog for five out of seven days during the Spring Festival holiday.

The air quality will become severely polluted, mainly due to the higher temperature and low wind.

The temperature will reach the highest on the third day of Lunar New Year.

On the Spring Festival Eve, the smog might be the worst because of intense fireworks set off by people.

Beijing environmental monitoring center suggests residents shorten the time and limit the amount of fireworks they set off.

The elderly, children, and people who have respiratory disease are suggested to stay at home to avoid being exposed to the environment with intense smog.
