This year's China Central Television Spring Festival Gala is to be broadcast online via iqiyi.com.

CCTV has signed an exclusive deal with the company to screen the entire New Year's Eve gala online. This is the first time that CCTV has signed an exclusive deal with another media organization.

The gala has long been an integral part of the Chinese New Year celebrations and the crew have been busy are adding the finishing touches to the show.

The show will be broadcast live from 8pm on February 18th and the new deal with iqiyi.com means that viewers across the globe can tune in to join the new year's celebrations.

Singer Andy Lau has confirmed that he will be performing the theme song to the show. The theme song tells the story of Chinese people migrating thousands of miles to reunite with their families.

CCTV's Spring Festival Gala is the longest running, most watched and biggest variety show in television history.
