Speculations are rife that retired Chinese tennis star Li Na might be pregnant.

Reporters in Shanghai have been commenting on the "difference" in her appearance. Journalists caught a glimpse of her as she attended a commercial event in Shanghai on Friday, January 16.

She wore a pair of flat shoes rather than high-heels and her face seemed a little swollen.

What's more, she kept her thick, loose jacket on, although the conference room was warm and frequently pulled the coat to cover her belly.

The former tennis ace is now in Melbourne, Australia attending a series of events related to the 2015 Australian Open tennis tournament.

She said she would make an important announcement at a retirement ceremony to be held by local organizers on January 19.
