Destinations that will be discounted include Laojun Mountain in Henan Province and Shaoxing in Zhejiang Province, a historic town famed for its liquor and culture.

In addition to cheaper entry fees, Beijing residents can enjoy dining and accommodation discounts by presenting their identification cards.

A tourism industry insider said that the APEC holidays are an attempt for the government to adjust holiday schedules, according to a report on the Economic Daily.
