Mexican President to visit China, attend APEC meeting

Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto will pay a state visit to China and attend the 22nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting in Beijing from Nov 10 to 13, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang announced Monday. [Special coverage]

Nieto is visiting at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, Qin said in a press release.

With the theme of "Shaping the Future through Asia-Pacific Partnership", a series of APEC meetings will be held from Nov 5 to 11 in Beijing.

Xi will chair the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. On the sidelines of the meeting, he will meet with leaders of other APEC member economies.
