US Open semifinalist Peng Shuai says she still intends to play a hectic doubles schedule despite making it to the last four at Flushing Meadows last week.

The Chinese world No. 21, who was forced to withdraw from her match against Caroline Wozniacki in the US Open semifinal because of injury and heatstroke, says giving up doubles to concentrate on singles is not on her agenda.

Peng has been ranked No. 1 in doubles and has lifted two grand slams, at Wimbledon in 2013 and at the French Open this year.

But the 28-year-old will need to look for a new partner after she announced that she is parting with long-time teammate Hsieh Su-Wei of Chinese Taipei.

The pair will re-form one last time to defend their title at the WTA World Finals in Singapore next month.

Peng and Hsieh only managed the last 16 at the US Open in women's doubles.
