The Qingfeng Steamed Buns Restaurant promised to crack down on counterfeit frozen foodstuffs. They made the announcement yesterday at a press conference in Beijing, according to the Beijing Youth Daily.

Qingfeng Restaurant admitted that all the quick-frozen Qingfeng products currently sold in supermarkets are fake and that nearly 30 restaurants outside Beijing illegally used the copyright-protected name "Qingfeng".

"The real Qingfeng fast-frozen buns are expected to appear on the market at the end of this year, so currently all the fast-frozen products in the name of Qingfeng at the market are fake," said Gao Wenhui, manager of Qingfeng's main store. And only 11 chain outlets are authorized outside Beijing.

The fake products have been taken off shelves in many of Beijing's supermarkets already.

The restaurant is witnessing an overwhelming surge in customer after Chinese President Xi Jinping visited it for a meal in December of last year.
