Chinese billionaire and philanthropist, Chen Guangbiao, denied the report that he has made a huge profit from recycling discarded steel gathered at Sichuan earthquake cites in 2008, the Beijing News reports.

An online article posted by the Chongqing Youth Daily alleged that Chen Guangbiao recycle tons of steel gathered from the Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, from which he made a profit of about two billion yuan.

In an interview with the Beijing News, Chen said that he didn't reap any profits from the devastation left by the earthquake.

Chen claims that the construction team from his company spent almost 20 million yuan to help demolish quake-stricken sites. The local government didn't pay any money for their work, he added.

Chen Guangbiao is the founder and chairman for the Jiangsu Huangpu Renewable Resources Limited Company, which was established in 2003.
