Residential gas explosion injures 3 in Shanghai

Three people were injured in a natural gas explosion in a Putuo District apartment on Tuesday morning, Eastday.com reported.

The accident happened on the second floor of a building on Guanlong Road when a couple was at home with one of their friends, it said.

A television and air-conditioner were destroyed in the blast with pieces of both found in a flowerbed across the road. Neighbors heard cries for help and assisted in putting out the fire, the report added.

The severity of their injures was not reported.

The cause of the gas explosion is being investigated.
