Songjiang tourist buses double the fun

Visitors to Shanghai's Songjiang district will from next month be able to tour the area aboard a new double-decker bus service, its operator said yesterday.

For 20 yuan (US$3.25) per person, passengers will be able to hop on and off the imaginatively titled Songjiang Tourism Buses No. 1 and No. 2 as often as they like. The services will operate only at weekends from 8:30am to 3:30pm, said the Shanghai Spring International Travel Service.

Bus No. 1 will follow an 18-kilometer route and visit popular tourist spots like Yuehu Sculpture Park, Sheshan Park, Chenshan Botanical Garden, Guangfulin Relics Park and Happy Valley Amusement Park. It will also pass Sheshan Metro station.

Bus No. 2 will take an 11km tour around Thames Town, Shanghai International Studies University, East China University of Political Science and Law and various commercial areas, the operator said.
