International athletes start to win their medals

Australia's Brittany Dutton has clinched the first medal of the Nanjing Youth Olympics in women's triathlon, finishing in 59 minutes and 56 seconds.

Thirty-two athletes competed in the swim, cycle, and running event.

In the women's 10-metre air pistol, Agata Nowak of Poland won the gold in the final round.

The first gold medal of the competition in swimming was claimed by Ukraine's Mykhailo Romanchuk.

In the men's 66-kilo division judo gold medal match, Japan's Hifumi Abe claimed the title.
