Three doctors from Fujian Medical University Union Hospital were in surgery for 32 hours, setting a hospital record for the longest running operation, People's Daily reported on Monday.

Chen Jianping, Chen Jing and Chen Song began the operation at 9am on June 21 and didn't finish until 5pm on June 22. They completed six different surgical procedures on the patient, who had multiple tumors in critical areas, according to the newspaper.

The surgeons were seen lying on the floor next to the operating table after the operation. They looked drained but triumphant due to its success, the report said.
