A Chinese company employee who was abducted in Iraq in June 12 has been freed, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry.
The ministry's spokesperson Hua Chunying announced the news at a regular press briefing on Wednesday.
Hua also said the Chinese Embassy in Iraq has urged the Iraqi government to take tangible measures to protect Chinese citizens and company employees there amid worsening security situation in the country.
At present, there are more than 10,000 Chinese company employees in Iraq.
