China's official Xinhua News Agency has released a photo and curriculum vitae of Premier Li Keqiang's wife Cheng Hong, who is accompanying Li for his Africa tour. [Special coverage]

Xinhua said Sunday on its Weibo, China's major social media platform, that Cheng Hong was born in 1957 and graduated from a university in 1982. She is a professor with a degree of doctor of letters.

Cheng has served as a teacher in the foreign languages department of Capital University of Economics and Business for more than 30 years. She has been engaged in English teaching and research and is responsible for research project on natural literature and eco-criticism.

Cheng Hong is also a member of the university's academic board and she has published and translated several books on American natural literature.

Cheng Hong and Li Keqiang met each other in Peking University. They have a daughter after they got married.
