A woman who has worn a jade bracelet for 12 years without taking it off is now seeking solutions online to remove it from her wrist, Guangzhou-based New Express Daily reported.

The 27-year-old woman identified as Tina told the newspaper the bracelet is too tight and that she has failed at numerous attempts to take it off.

The bracelet was a gift from her parents when she turned 15 years old, the report said.

The color of the bracelet has turned from amber and dark blue to jade green, said the report.

She said it cost 2,000 yuan (US$322) but it's now worth at least 80,000 yuan.

She told the newspaper that she treasures the bracelet and doesn't want to destroy it.

In China, people believe wearing jade for a long time protects one from harm. They believe a misfortune will occur if the jade is broken.
