New subway amenities

The Beijing Subway's official website announced that when subway trains are delayed, passengers can ask for an emergency route card at ticket windows, the Beijing Daily reported.

Using colorful pens, staffers will draw the fastest detour for commuters. On average, about 500 cards will be available at each of 235 subway stations.

Other new services include a shorter number for the subway service hotline (96165), a dedicated WeChat channel for lost-and-found items, and more comprehensive information about transport options and amenities surrounding each subway station.
