New airport subway line

The new subway line connecting central Beijing and the new airport planned for Daxing district will start construction before the end of 2014. It is scheduled to open along with the new airport in 2018, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.

The new subway line will be 59.2 kilometers long and have five stations: Mudanyuan, Jinrongjie, Caoqiao, Nanyuan and the new airport station. The maximum speed will exceed 120 kilometers per hour.

In the future, passengers will be able to transfer to the new airport line from Line 10 at Mudanyuan Station. Check-in terminals will be set up at Mudanyuan and Caoqiao stations so that passengers can check in for flights up to 24 hours in advance.
