Li Na faces a 4,000-USD fine due to a coaching violation at this year's Australian Open, as the committee of the tournament announced a list of eight players being penalized, which included her, on Jan 21, 2014.
The committee said that, during the third round of her match with Lucie Safarova, Li Na's coach, Carlos Rodriguez, made gestures with his hands that are considered as in-match coaching.
Rule K of the Grand Slam guidebook states: "Players shall not receive coaching during a match. Communication of any kind, audible or visible, between a player and a coach may be construed as coaching."
