On November 20, the State General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine announced the new edition of the measures for organic food certification, to be enacted next April, the Beijing Youth Daily reported.
The new measures clarify the regulation that only food products consisting of 95 percent organic content will qualify for the organic certification. The new measures are being promulgated to safeguard the rights and interests of consumers, producers and sellers, and to further improve the quality of organic products.
