China claimed six more golds in the pool on Monday to finish the five-day swimming competition of the East Asian Games with 26 gold medals.
China won 26 golds, 14 silvers and 8 bronzes while Japanhad 11-19-16. Hong Kong, China, was third with 0-3-7 and South Korea0-1-6 in the 37-event swimming competition.
London Olympic bronze medalist Tang Yi won women's 50 meters freestyle final in 25.16 seconds, beating Haugey Siobhan Bernadette from Hong Kong, China, 25.68 and Lee Jae Youg of South Korea 25.93.
"It's a big challenge for me, competing in three big meets in three months. I did my best, " Tang said.
Asian record holder Ning Zetao completed a gold-double after winning the men's 50m freestyle in 22.20. Kawachi Yuki of Japan, and Cheah Gerffrey Robin of Hong Kong, China came second and third respectively in 22.47 and 22.60.
"I was too tired after the last three days by competing in two individual and two relay events. I am not at my peak form to break my own Asian record," said the 20-year-old Ning.
In other events won by China, Chen Xinyi touched home first in women's 400m individual medley in 4:40.24, followed by Shimizu Sakiko of Japan and Kim Sweoyeong of South Korea.
Ha Sinan and Hao Yun, who both train together with Olympic champion Jiao Liuyang, won respectively in the women's 200m butterfly and men's 400m freestyle.
Fu Yuanhui, Shi Jinglin, Lu Ying and Qiu Yuhan gave China the last gold in the women's 4X100m medley relay in 4:01.04, ahead of Japan (4:05.46) and Hong Kong, China (4:05.99).
Motegi Mio sealed victory for Japan in the women's 200m breaststroke in 2:25.06, while Asian record holder Kawamoto Kohei topped the men's 100m butterfly in 52.81, ahead of Shi Feng from China at 53.00 and Umemoto Masayuki of Japan at 53.03.
Kawamoto Kohei was named the Best Male Swimmer with 3 golds while Qiu Yuhan won the award of Best Female Swimmers with 4 golds.
