Leaning tower repaired

Yaojiasi Tower, which is famous for its leaning position in Badachu Park, Shijingshan district, has been repaired completely for the first time in three centuries, giving the tower its original appearance, the Beijing Daily reports.

Heritage experts say that the tower is of great historical, art and scientific value with a history of more than 350 years. Due to natural erosion, the tower sustained serious damages that caused it to lean to one side. A special fund of 1.6 million yuan ($0.26 billion) was invested to restore the historical treasure.
