Just before midnight on Wednesday, 11 horses got loose from a stud farm and endangered themselves and others by running wild on the airport expressway in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Fortunately, all of the horses were driven back to the stud farm by a rural laborer together with his family.

"I was driving to the airport at 3 am that night and suddenly I came upon a group of horses that were running wild on the highway and screaming horribly," a witness surnamed Zhao said. "The horses seemed to be scared, and I was scared too. The situation was very dangerous."

Chen Likun, a 56-year-old man from Enshi, Hubei Province, came to Wuhan three months ago for medical treatment. While in the city, he and his family are working at a construction site near the stud farm.

Chen saw the group of horses rush onto the highway and immediately deduced that they were from the nearby farm.

At first, he thought the staff of the stud farm were driving the horses, but soon he realized they had gotten loose on their own. He and his family then decided to help drive the horses back to safety.

Chen took a car from the construction site and went after the horses together with his family members. Four hours later, they had rounded up all 11 horses and drove them back to the stud farm.
