A man surnamed She was detained by police for rape and robbery after being on the run for two years, the Beijing News reported on Tuesday.
She, 23, planned to rob a prostitute along with two friends in 2009. The three found their target online and brought her to a house in Hepingli, Dongcheng district.
They tied the woman up, raped and robbed her, before threatening a taxi driver to help them escape the scene.
Police soon detained She's two friends, but She escaped. Police arrested him at a construction site in Hunan Province in late November.
