(Ecns.cn) – The Shenyang Fire Brigade in the capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province received a call from police on Monday afternoon that an overweight patient needed emergency treatment, but was too heavy for medical staff to lift. The man weighed about 350 kilograms.
The fire control and demand center immediately dispatched a rescue vehicle and eight firefighters from the nearest squadron to the patient's residential community.
After more than an hour of effort, the patient was moved to the hospital and received treatment for a persistent fever.
The patient was born in 1972, and has a brain disease which causes his abnormal obesity.
