(Ecns.cn)--The seventh round of formal talks between Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) and the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) from the Chinese mainland is scheduled to take place from October 19 to 21 in Tianjin, China, according to reports Tuesday.

Members of SEF will land in Tianjin Wednesday and during the first day of the talks, vice chairmen and vice-presidents from both sides will have a preparatory discussion on the agenda and the contents of the entire round of talks.

On the second day, Chairman Chiang Pin-kung of the SEF and his Chinese counterpart Chen Yunlin of the ARATS will hold a formal talk on various issues related to the two sides, including operations of their former agreements and future communications.

According to some previous reports from Taiwan, the two sides will sign an agreement on nuclear power safety and disaster preparedness during these talks. On October 18, Chiang, before leaving Taiwan, told reporters that the agreement on nuclear power safety will be signed.

There will be enough time to discuss and sign an agreement to help protect Taiwanese business people and their investments in China. The two sides will try to reach an agreement on that soon, according to Yang Yi, spokesman from the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office.

Besides this, the two sides will exchange views on industrial cooperation and the future agenda of new talks.

The previous six talks have achieved positive results which have been highly regarded by scholars, media, and general people from the two sides.
