(Ecns.cn)--Wednesday afternoon, a girl wearing an ancient costume, resembling Chang'e!the Chinese goddess of the Moon!posted an advertisement in a subway station in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, in a bid to rent a boyfriend for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival(September 10-12).

The girl, surnamed Li, 24, is a migrant worker from Chongqing Municipality. She had been dating a boy for three years and planned to get married this October. Their parents were planning to meet in Shenzhen during the Mid-Autumn Festival to discuss the wedding.

However, just a month ago, her boyfriend suddenly disappeared with all their savings.

"It has been one month. I don't know what happened. I have no choice but to find a temporary boyfriend to cope with my parents," explained Li.

Li said she wanted to hire a guy of her age. At the suggestions of her friends, she put on the strange clothes to draw attention.

Yet, to some on-lookers Li's move was just a hype. Some also thought she may have been doing performance art.
