(Ecns.cn)--Smart phones, especially iPhone and Android system mobile phones, are becoming new targets and tools for hackers in China. According to some industry insiders, stealing information via mobile phones has already formed an industry chain.

Most hackers make profits by peddling spyware or selling personal information of mobile phone users that they got through a virus. Every year, over 10 million mobile phone users are spied on or hacked, said an expert.

Spyware for mobile phones can be sold at a price ranging from 1,500 to 1,800 yuan ($234.7 to $281.7), and for an iPhone can even be sold at 4,000 yuan ($626.1). Some software has been listed on the Internet to openly look for commercial agents.

People who buy the software are mainly those who want to get industry information from their competitors or personal information from people they are curious about.

Since 2009, the government began to take actions to ban the software. But due to the large demand by consumers and profits hidden behind the market, countless hackers participate in this "job," which makes it hard for governmental departments to ban the software at this time, said an industry insider.
