Insights | Global affair expert: Takaichi's remarks on Taiwan show she tries to ignore the past

David Gosset, a specialist in global affairs and sinology, and founder of the China-Europe-America Global Initiative, said during an interview with China News Network that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has a revisionist view of history and is connected to far-right forces in Japanese society that try to forget and ignore the past. 

Gosset stressed that Takaichi's comments evoke, especially among Chinese people, very terrible memories of WWII. "If this continues, she will put Japan at risk of repeating the same mistakes," he said.
