As China ramps up efforts to promote new quality productive forces, Chinese and foreign officials as well as institutions which participated in the China Development Forum 2024 (CDF) on Sunday expressed their optimism about its development prospects, which feature artificial intelligence (AI), new-energy vehicles (NEVs) and other emerging industries.

During the forum, many executives of foreign firms shared their views on China's opening up and prospects for cooperation in various sectors. They said that China's new quality productive forces will not only inject new impetus for China's economic recovery, but also boost the confidence of multinational companies.

"I'm very optimistic about the future of China. The potential is still huge to grow," said Jochen Goller, President & CEO Of BMW Group Greater China.

"It is a stunning achievement that over the last 50 years, China has been able to bring hundreds of millions of people out of extreme poverty," said Brendan Nelson, senior vice president of The Boeing Company and president of Boeing Global, "Now as the second largest economy in the world, it is in everybody's interest that we support and maintain a stable world with a free open trading mindset, and to encourage and support China in its development ambitions."
