Expressway opens to traffic in central China's Henan

Ningling-Shenqiu section of the Henan Puyang-Hubei Yangxin Expressway opened to traffic on Tuesday, marking Henan Province embraced the era of high-speed railway. 　

The expressway has a total length of 153.2　kilometers and a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. 　

"By now, Dancheng County, the last county in Henan Province that was not connected to the highway, formally entered the highway era, realizing the goal of all counties in the province connected to the expressway," said Li Yuanshuai, an engineer from China Railway Group Limited.

"The expressway will greatly improve the highway network in the provincial boundary area, so as to improve the efficiency of highway transportation in the region, and promote the construction of an integrated transportation system, thus accelerating the economic and social development in the Central Plains," Li added.
