World's largest natural desert poplar forest in Xinjiang turns golden

Stunning scenery of desert poplar trees, also known as populus euphratica, along the Tarim River has been spotted in Xayar County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region as the leaves turn shades of gold.  

Covering an area of nearly 4.7 million mu (approximately 313,333 hectares), the forest in Xayar County is the world's largest natural desert poplar forest, bringing vitality to the arid desert.
