NYC's Natural History Museum opens new science wing

The American Museum of Natural History's Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation marked its opening in New York City on Thursday.

The $465 million center focuses on science and education and includes a butterfly vivarium, insectarium and entrance to the gems and minerals halls. 　

The American Museum of Natural History was founded in 1869.
