A bionic robot horse printed with the words "equestrian simulator" jolted back and forth under the control of a computer at the equestrian simulation laboratory of Sichuan Tourism University in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Sophomores of the equestrian class held the reins. Their calves pressed gently against the horse-like simulator's belly and moved with the horse's advancing rhythm. The laboratory, which was recently put into use for teaching, is the first equestrian simulation laboratory in Sichuan.
The main training items are divided into three modules, "course", "special training" and "scene."
The operator can control the system through the equestrian simulator's posture, and simulate the horse's slow, trot, brisk step, running, and jumping gait. Equestrian simulator accurately restores the pace of horses in different motion states, bringing users the experience of riding real horses.
This simulated horse is very friendly for beginners. With this simulated horse equipment, students can do their exercises anytime and anywhere, regardless of the weather or time, said Li Yanliu, an equestrian teacher at Sichuan Tourism University.
