(ECNS) -- A statue commemorating the Chinese Labor Corps of WWI made its debut at Gare de Lyon in Paris, France on Sept. 20.
Donated by Shandong Overseas Exchange Association,the statue is 2.63 meters high and will remain at Gare de Lyon permanently.
This is the first ever Chinese-related outdoor statue in Paris.
140,000 Chinese laborers were deployed on European battlefields during WWI.
Many didn't make it back home.
