(ECNS) -- China’s annual political event, the “two sessions,” concluded in Beijing on Tuesday afternoon. In an exclusive interview with China News Network, Jordanian Ambassador to China, Hussam Al Husseini, who has attended “two sessions” for six years, spoke highly of China’s democratic process and policy making.

He noted that although reform and opening-up have consistently been major themes in China's policy agenda, this year the focus is "becoming stronger and more visible.”

Husseini observed that China has been advancing reforms in multiple areas, with the particular emphasis placed on artificial intelligence (AI) technology and education. He highlighted the integration of AI into education and the role of new technologies in transforming the education system as major topics discussed during the two sessions.

The ambassador also praised China’s policy of opening up, stating that there are a lot areas for interaction between China and the world. “China has a lot to contribute to global civilization, global security, global economy, and global peace. More openness from China will pave the way for enhanced cooperation, a deeper understanding of China’s system and characteristics, and a clearer recognition of China’s contributions to humanity,” he said.

Regarding Jordan-China cooperation, Husseini pointed out that China is Jordan’s second-largest trading partner, noting immense potential for collaboration in trade, investment, technology, and education.

He particularly highlighted Jordan’s strong talent pool in IT, AI, and digital technology, which offers promising opportunities for joint cooperation in the tech sector. Additionally, he underscored green economy and renewable energy as key areas for future cooperation between the two nations.

China’s modernization process has left a profound impression on Husseini. He remarked that Chinese modernization encompasses not only technological advancement and economic growth but also the integration of traditional culture into the modernization process.

It's very important that modernization considers advancement for the future, while simultaneously preserving culture, values, and traditions, the ambassador said. He noted that modernization is most effective when it really reflects the sense of this nation and its aspiration for the future. This aspect could be seen in China’s modernization process, he said. As the country advances, the presence of Chinese historical traditions remains strong. Thousands of years of traditions are still vivid in the atmosphere of China, he observed.

In conclusion, Husseini stressed that both China and Jordan share a rich historical and cultural heritage, each making significant contributions to humanity. He called for more cultural exchanges to enhance mutual understanding and further strengthen the friendship between the two peoples of both nations as China continues its path of opening up.
