Dong Zhimin, the husband in a high-profile case of a woman being trafficked, tortured and giving birth to eight children, was sentenced to 9 years for abuse and illegal detention, announced the Xuzhou Intermediate People's Court in East China's Jiangsu province on Friday.
Five other people, named Shi Lizhong, Sang Heniu, Tan Aiqing, Huo Yongqu, and Huo Fude, were sentenced for 8 to 13 years for kidnapping and trafficking women.

An investigation found the woman in Fengxian county of Xuzhou, Jiangsu province, came from Yagu, a village in Yunnan province and was a victim of human trafficking.
