(ECNS) -- The 4th Shaanxi Provincial Martial Arts Kung Fu Conference opened on Monday evening at the Huayin Sports Center Gymnasium in Huayin City, northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
The five-day event has attracted over 1,800 participants from 135 teams and individual entries, including competitors from countries such as Russia, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.
Competitors will take part in individual and team events featuring traditional boxing and traditional weapons.
Chinese wushu master Zhao Changjun said the event's growing popularity, with over 1,800 participants, reflects its expanding influence among martial arts enthusiasts both at home and abroad.
The event adopts an "one event, two venues, multiple presentations" format. In addition to the main venue at the gymnasium, outdoor venues have been set up at the "One River, Two Banks" park and the Huashan Gubaixing Xianxia Town in Huayin City. Through activities including a wushu carnival and cultural and creative product exhibitions, participants and visitors can experience the traditional culture and local folk customs of the Weinan region.
