(ECNS) -- Horgos Land Port in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has handled more than 59,000 freight trains from China to Europe and Asia, according to Xinjiang railway authorities on Thursday.
Over 6,000 freight trains have passed through the port so far this year. To ensure efficient train clearance, Horgos Customs has worked with railway operators, leveraging technical tools to inspect and release upon arrival for freight trains, lifting overall customs‑clearance efficiency by more than 50%.
“During peak arrival periods for freight trains, we have cut the shortest port clearance time to under 30 minutes,” said Cai Guangxu, an official at Horgos Station, China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group Co Ltd.
Up to now, 91freight train routes to Europe and Asia run via Horgos Land Port, reaching 46 cities and regions across 18 countries, carrying more than 200 categories of goods.
