(ECNS) -- A magnitude-4.6 earthquake struck Medog County in Nyingchi, Xizang Autonomous Region, at 6:06 p.m. on Wednesday, with no casualties or property losses reported as of Thursday, according to local authorities.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, with the epicenter located at 28.91 degrees north latitude and 94.80 degrees east longitude.
The quake was strongly felt in Medog, while slight tremors were reported in neighboring Mainling City and Bayi District.
Local authorities are continuing to monitor seismic activity.
According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, 58 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above have occurred within 200 kilometers of the epicenter over the past five years, with the strongest being a magnitude-5.6 quake in Medog County in November 2022.
