(ECNS) - Chinese manufacturers topped the global humanoid robot market in 2025, with Shanghai-based AgiBot ranking first worldwide by shipments and market share, according to a report released by market research firm Omdia.
It said the market entered a phase of rapid growth in 2025, with total shipments of about 13,000 units for the year. Chinese companies stood out in large-scale production and delivery, it added.
AgiBot shipped 5,168 humanoid robots in 2025, accounting for roughly 39% of global units, placing it first worldwide by both volume and market share. Unitree ranked second, according to the report.
Omdia said the integration of generative AI with robotics is driving a shift from robots designed for preset tasks toward systems capable of learning and adapting to their environments, a trend often described as "general-purpose embodied intelligence."
Several companies, including AgiBot, Unitree and Tesla, are emerging as major players in the global humanoid robot market, the report noted.
Looking ahead, Omdia forecasts strong growth over the next decade, with global humanoid robot shipments potentially reaching 2.6 million units by 2035.
