(ECNS) -- The 2025 Conference of Global Public Security Cooperation Forum opened on Wednesday in the city of Lianyungang in east China's Jiangsu Province. This year’s forum has drawn nearly 2,000 participants from 120 countries, regions and international organizations, focusing on addressing global public security challenges through enhanced cooperation.
During the conference, participants will discuss topics such as "Joint strategies: Addressing global public security risks and challenges in the new era," "Innovation leading the way: Enhancing public security capacity building and technical cooperation," and "Unified action: Building a more comprehensive mechanism for global public security cooperation."
The forum will also feature eight sub-forums focused on a series of themes, including combating transnational crime, tourism security and immigration management cooperation.
The 2025 annual report of the Global Public Security Cooperation Forum will be unveiled during the event, while the 2025 Global Public Security Index Report will be released afterwards.
This year’s index report covers 50 countries worldwide and examines four key dimensions -- law and order maintenance, counterterrorism, road traffic safety and cybersecurity. In addition, the report introduces a new indicator on artificial intelligence security to actively address the challenges posed by emerging technologies.
The sub-forums will release relevant outcome documents, proposing initiatives in areas including joint prevention of telecom and online fraud, systematic response to synthetic drug challenges, enhanced international counter-terrorism cooperation, implementation of talent development programs in public security, and promotion of exchanges and collaboration in security technology and equipment.
The Global Public Security Cooperation Forum was first held in 2022, and the annual conference has attracted high-level officials from around the world since then.(Xujiawen)
