In Numbers: How the home of Pu'er tea has become China's coffee capital

Located in southern Yunnan, Pu'er City offers ideal conditions for coffee cultivation. The region now has 679,000 mu (about 45,000 hectares) of coffee plantations, producing 58,000 tons of green coffee beans during the 2023-2024 season. This makes Pu'er the leading area in China for both coffee cultivation and production.
