Two Sessions highlights (March 4)：CPPCC to open its annual session, NPC to hold press conference

(ECNS) -- The third session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will open at the Great Hall of the People at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, marking the official start of China’s 2025 Two Sessions. Additionally, at 12:00 today, the third session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) will hold a press conference.

At 3:00 p.m. Monday, the press conference for the third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee was held in the press conference hall of the Great Hall of the People. Liu Jieyi, the spokesperson for the conference, announced that the third session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee would close on the morning of March 10, lasting for six days.

During the session, national political advisors will hear and deliberate a report on the work of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee and a report on the handling of proposals, according to the spokesperson.

They will also sit in on the third session of the 14th National People's Congress, the country's top legislature and later discuss key documents, including the highly anticipated government work report.

This year’s CPPCC National Committee session includes plenary meetings and group consultations. Diplomatic envoys to China will be invited to observe the opening and closing meetings, said Liu.

Three interviews of “CPPCC members' passage” will be held during the meeting and the first interview is to be held on 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Additionally, the spokesperson for the press conference of the 14th NPC will answer questions from domestic and overseas journalists.

Over 3,000 Chinese and foreign journalists have registered to cover the annual event.
