(ECNS) -- China finished the 2024-2025 ISU World Cup Speed Skating with one silver and four bronze medals, after the event concluded in Poland on Sunday.
The tally included a bronze in the men's team sprint, along with Han Mei's silver and bronze, as well as Ning Zhongyan's two bronze medals
In the men's team sprint on Sunday, Team China, consisting of Xue Zhiwen, Lian Ziwen, and Deng Zhihan, claimed bronze with a time of 1:20.55. South Korea took silver with 1:20.47, while the U.S. won gold with 1:19.27.
Han won bronze in the women's 1500 meters with a time of 1:57.56 last Friday, finishing just 0.06 seconds behind Japan's Miho Takagi, who took second place. In the women's 1000 meters last Saturday, Han secured silver with a strong finishing sprint, clocking 1:16.31.
Notably, Han previously won bronze in the women's 1000 meters at the third stop of the World Cup event. Despite missing one stop this season, she currently ranks third in this World Cup women's 1000 meters standings.
In the men’s 1500 meters race, Ning secured third place with a time of 1:46.06 last Friday. In the men's 1000 meters event, he claimed his second bronze medal with a time of 1:08.84 last Saturday.
At the recently concluded Harbin Asian Winter Games, the Chinese speed skating team won 11 gold, five silver, and five bronze medals, achieving their best performance in the history of the competition. Han and Ning delivered outstanding performances, each claiming three gold medals.
