(ECNS) -- Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Han Zhiqiang recently held discussions with Thai Deputy Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai and Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa on cooperation to combat online gambling and telecom fraud crimes in Myawaddy and other areas, as well as efforts to rescue trapped Chinese citizens, according to the Chinese Embassy in Thailand.
Han pointed out that during Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra’s recent official visit to China, the leaders of both countries reaffirmed their determination on combating online gambling, telecom fraud, and related transnational crimes. Law enforcement agencies from both sides have taken swift actions and achieved initial results.
Han hopes that in the next phase, both sides could deepen their cooperation to eradicate these cross-border crimes that pose serious risks to people's property and lives.
