Comicomment: Closer BRICS cooperation fuels more inclusive development

(ECNS)--BRICS leaders have convened in Russia's city of Kazan, marking the first face-to-face gathering among leaders of the grouping after its historic expansion.

BRICS is not merely a political or economic cooperation mechanism but a platform for diverse nations to work together on common goals of development and prosperity. The newly expanded group is expected to strengthen cooperation among nations of the Global South and advance efforts to face those challenges and improve global governance toward greater equity and inclusiveness.

As a founding member, China has always been a steadfast supporter and participant in the BRICS cooperation mechanism, playing a vital leading role. China is willing to work with all BRICS countries to build a BRICS committed to peace, innovation, green development, justice, closer people-to-people exchanges, and open a new horizon in the high-quality development of greater BRICS cooperation, and join hands with Global South countries in building a community with a shared future for mankind.
