China's Travel Card mini app is officially offline, Dec. 13, 2022.

(ECNS) -- Trip records data of Chinese users collected by the Travel Card mini app was deleted synchronously to protect the personal information security according to law, said China's three major telecom operators.

Launched by China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, the Travel Card was in service since March 6, 2020 for the epidemic prevention and control.

China on Monday announced in an official statement that the COVID-19 travel code service would end since Tuesday.

Communication itinerary card inquiry channels such as text messages, web pages, WeChat applets, Alipay applets, and APPs will be offline simultaneously, said the statement.

Now the travel code service has been officially offline.
