China is able to bring huge benefits for the development of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries, ASEAN Business Advisory Council Chair Joey Concepcion said here Thursday.

Speaking at a press conference held at the sidelines of the 30th ASEAN Summit, the business leader said relationship between China and ASEAN is very important and both sides need to work for a win-win situation.

Concepcion noted that Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's move toward being a partner rather than an adversarial partner with China was a right step.

China is a strong nation, and it's to the ASEAN's benefit to find a win-win solution, he said, adding that down the road there will be a solution, a solution that is in the "ASEAN way."

The business leader explained that China, with a large population, could benefit the tourism industry in ASEAN countries. Meanwhile, in terms of financial resources, agriculture technology and export market, China could also offer enormous opportunities, he said.

Concepcion told the press conference a meeting would be held Friday focusing on inclusive growth and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. Attendants will include ASEAN officials as well as members of the business community.
